Moab and Canyonlands National Park

The kids

… and we are off!!!

Moab was our first “real” stop on our trip. We came here first time few years ago as .. it is and always will be D place to see at least once. Last time we did the Arches National Park and this time we visited Canyonlands National Park. They are both less than 30 miles apart and definately worth of seeing. Arches being more known of the two and the more crowded destination. Great thing is that both are very easy to visit and most the vistas are acceable by car. Only minus is that they both are National Parks so dogs are really not allowed anywhere with you on the trails.

We entered Canyonlands Park from the north through the Island of the Sky visitor Center, 38 miles from Moab. From this entrance you can see most of the park as “ a normal tourist”! The other entrance to the park is on south east side through The Needles Visitor Center that is 70 miles south of Moab.

We found great Trail hike/run spot with Rhona close by. Morning Glory Arch Trail is very popular and dog friendly!! Rhona had a ball and I tried to keep up!

We have had glorious 5 days in Moab.. tomorrow towards new adventures.

We have over 1100 miles to cover to Lake Ozarks.

Drive through Colorado ( we will be back with better time) then a quick stop at Kanopolis State Park Kansas, then to Lake Ozark State Park in Missouri where we got 4 days before Ian’s A Catamaran Nationals in Carlyle, IL

It might all sound a lot but it’s a big country and can not do everything this year.

We are all looking forward to the next adventure!!!
