Texas here we come!!!

Leaving Natchez Trail behind us we had few quick over nighters in South Mississippi, Alabama and outside Houston at the banks. Exploring some interesting campgrounds and learning about “The South Campground” map.

Did some short runs with Rhona and after asking… “are there any Gators around?” answer “been fishing here for 20 years never seen one!!!!” we promptly saw one beside a road where we were running… and yes.. Rhona stayed on leash for the rest of the run!! ha ha, Gulp!!!

Corpus Christi race week

There were over 90 boats racing

Not to be compared to A-Cat.. haha!!! Ian had never sailed a Hobie before so getting 26th out of 90 .. was not bad!!

Loading boats back into the trailer after the race week

We had a week in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ian rented a Hobie Cat and raced and played with boats the week. It was HOT.. still… it’s beginning of November and it was over 85F daily. While Ian was racing and doing boat stuff we girls went to visit Padre Island (just outside CC) beaches and few very boring dog parks. Apparently one of the few beach areas where you can drive on the sand and as I had a rental car it had to be done!

The town itself was not very ideal destination .. lot of building going on.. some finished some never will be.. some very dodgy characters floating around etc. but…

Corpus Christi is very dog friendly place and dogs are good to go off leash on most of the beaches so the girls swam everyday many times! Our Campground was on the beach as well so yes… lots of swimming for the kids!

Padre Island beaches.. and no people!!! Perfect

Miles after miles of great hiking and biking trails

After a week in Corpus C. it was definitely time to get back into the nature and get some trail running and quiet time back into the calendar! The weather was turning little cooler for us as well and everything was perfect again!! We had fridge full of food and laundry bag empty… time to chill !!

Perfect campground for us

Guadaloupe River State Park, 40 miles north of San Antonio

Beautiful and quiet State Park. We had great trail running with Rhona, Ian got back on his bike, nice cool nights, back into BBQ’n dinners and being outside!

We all needed time to chill from the heat and city buzz

Next on the calendar is Fredericksburg here in Texas for a long weekend… Moving slowly towards west.
