Camden, ME our new home town
September and full summer still going on
After landing in to Nova Scotia from the Argentia NL ferry we had 2 days to chill in Whycocomagh Provincial Park in Cape Breton NS. We were told that there was some bad weather on its way and got ready for it as one does but… IT WAS big… we had a foot deep river running under our camper middle of the night.. tree came down to our neighbors camper.. other neighbor left at dawn as their “toy filled tent” was dragged past our camper in pieces by all the water and wind (they had managed to get most of the pieces with them when they fled but .. there was still a pile of evidence left behind telling that they got blown away!! There was no electricity in the area for the next day but somehow we managed to escape this episode without a scratch!! Only thing that we lost was Ian’s Crocks… and that was just a “blessing”!! haha
The pictures do not give justice for the damage done around. We were told not to move campsites the next day as they had State of Emergency in place cause of cut off roads and bridges damaged around us.
As planned it was time for us to head south.. he he!!
Our drive to New Brunswick Province and towards St. Johns was very uneventful and we arrived to our next few days break spot. Sussex in NB Canada is a small town an hour east of St. Johns (there are lot of St. Johns around North East!!) and we had a day to get done some great hiking with Rhona and Ian got a long bike ride in.
Arriving to Camden in Maine was little bit emotional as it was the end destination for our summer adventures and exploring the unknown. We still had 2 weeks to live our camping life style with campfires before moving into the house few miles away
Autumn was coming and it is on its own bringing us a new adventure!!!
Ian started his new job…after retiring already once… at LM boat yard in town and he got busy playing with boats and learning new tricks. I moved us into our house in town and did paperwork to get registered and settled in Maine. Thank you millions for the Smullen’s for informing us with all the ins and outs with settling in and getting stuff done. Maine does function little differently from busy SoCal and we are ever so grateful to have local friends to get us started.

We are all settling into living in Camden and loving it. It definitely is different from SoCal and we are welcoming it with open arms. Shall see what the winter brings with it and looking forward to it. Wishing for some snow as local ski hill is 3 miles from us.. maybe get some snow shoeing done, even cross country skiing and skijoring with Rhona.

Keep traveling my friends.. these places can not be found from you home sofa corner.. it takes a lot of effort from all directions BUT sooooo worth every second of it!!
