Last days in Newfoundland …
Bellevue Beach Campground. One of our favorite spots on the island.. you probably understand from the the pic why?!?
It was time to dive into our last week on the island. We actually were spending the last week of summer (that we learned later on… hehe!) warm and sunny, on the beach.
Ian got his windsurfer out and I was kayaking with Rhona. Rhona did lots of swimming and we did some great exploring around the peninsula where we were camped out!
It was also partial moon eclipse.. perfect evening for campfire!
For great surprise the next day our Newfoundland friends Rodney and Lisa pulled up to the campground also so… we definitely needed to extend our stay!!! Good times! Thank you Rodney for all the cod fish and moose sausages.. we will never forget! Good luck with this years moose hunt!!!

We got an other quick hike in with Rhona close to Portuguese Cove east of St John’s. We are going to miss this island! What a gem that not many have found. We are very lucky to have been able to explore and learned to love this island for nearly 3 months.
Our ship Ala’suinu back to Nova Scotia
I had booked our ferry back to mainland back Oct. 2025… Ian tried to protest, “well that is WAY TOO EARLY to book anything for Sept. 2026!!!!” and it turned out that to sail the 16 h trip and have a pet friendly cabin for us … it was right to book it a year early!!! The kennel space for dogs that was the other way to get your dog across to mainland was FULL, and very loud! I would not have put Rhona there… no way!
Rhona comfortably tucked away for a good night sleep between us.
