Nova Scotia 2026

Sunset at Kejimkujik National Park

… and we are back in Nova Scotia… we love the place and as we missed some of the north coast and south coast last year, we are doing a do over this year of the peninsula! In June we are doing north coast and in September when returning from Newfoundland we are doing the south east coast. The 1st of June we took the 3 hour Catamaran Ferry ride from Bar Harbor, Maine to Yarmouth Nova Scotia as it saved us 2 day drive across Northern Maine and New Brunswick that we did last year.

Took 3pm ferry from Maine to Nova Scotia and arrived to our campsite in Yarmouth just for the cocktail hour! Perfect!!!

One of our main goals this round was to spend some time in Kejimkujik National Park. They have very limited amount of campsites with electricity and is very popular place to camp for the locals. The spring is still going on in Nova Scotia this year as they had a hard winter behind them for a change. We all loved the place… all the hiking, biking, kayaking, dog walks, camp fires… just a dream of a spot!!

Next up was Blomidon Provincial Park middle of the peninsula towards north. We were on Bay of Fundy but this time south side of the bay with huge tides and red seawater and sand.

Blomidon Provincial Park… huge tides and back to hiking, biking and being a tourist!

This Provincial Park we were back to “dry camping “, meaning we made our own electricity and brought in our own water.

Being next to cold sea, it will bring some fog in time to time but we were happy being away from all the mid west 90F days!!!
Next stop was in Truro and was time to go and clean up and provision for our next jump to unknown … Newfoundland!!!!

time to take a big ferry this time! North Sydney, NS to Channel-Port aux Basques, NL
