Spokane
Bowl and Pitcher State Park NW of Spokane
We were right next Spokane River
Amazing running trails on both sides of the river that run for miles along the river. Great little spots for Rhona to have a cooling swim and drink mid run.
Picture of the Bowl and Pitcher that gave the name for this area ( I can not see it but…) Just amazing rock formations around here!
We were here for 3 days as we could not get longer stay on a same spot. Last minute booking is getting harder and harder to get…specially in places where outdoor season is shorter and everyone wants to take advantage of good weather. When we are traveling for longer time moving everyday to new spot is tiring, so planning ahead of time is worth it.
Very lucky to get a spot at all with short notice as this area is very popular with campers and hikers/mountain bike riders. Lots of people hiking with their dogs as well! This spot is only 20 min from down town.
For next 5 days we headed out a little further north from Spokane to Nine Mile Falls. We are still talking ONLY 40 min north of Spokane. We are still on the same river.
We are camped out right next to Spokane “lake” that is part of the river! Ian got his boat out and kids have great time running around the huge grass area. Everyone/every place is very dog friendly and all dogs are well behaved as they get out a lot and see places.
Chill time after a full day of hunting/swimming/play
Ian got some sailing done
My kind of mountain biking.. ha ha! Flat and easy.
Kaya being a good girl and sitting still for a pic… Rhona was here!!!!! Got bored and ran away just incase she missed a smell somewhere else!!
Spokane Lake.. part of the river
Today we have little rain and gives us all an excuse to be lazy and sit on the sofa!! Well we are on the sofa with Rhona… he he! It’s nice to have little weather for a change from last 16 years in San Diego.
Yes.. Rhona dominating the sofa situation here!! ha ha
Our adventure continues next week.. we are heading back to Pitch and Bowl camp for 3 days.
Our perfect little hide out in Bowl and Pitch campground
