Beautiful summer Vermont

The lakes are warm and beautiful to swim in! We had many long swims with the girls.

We are back outdoors!!!! THANK YOU…after spending nearly 3 weeks mostly indoors/driving to see things as its been “murder” hot weather… we are finally back to normal temperatures (about 25C/77F). The humidity of South Canada is gone as well, it’s amazing how the climate can change within 100 miles so much and we are further south than we have been in last 3 weeks!!!

We crossed back to US of A in north Vermont and headed to Brighton State Park for a week dry camping hide away.

Beautiful and quiet campground with well spaced campspots. Tons of amazing trails and lakes with in minutes walk from the camper!!!

First night at the new campsite we had great rain and thunder that bought in the cooler weather… YES……sheets of water…

The trails off back of the campsite were amazing and we hiked and ran them with the kids many times a day finishing with cooling swim in the lake!!! Bliss!!!!

The Brighton State park has been there for over 50 years and is very popular with local campers. Very dog friendly and happy place. Book early… if you want to have a good spot, place was full when we were there… www.vtstateparks.com , little town Brighton that was 3 miles away had great pizza place, public beach, laundry, supermarket etc.

As we are new to this… “big scale traveling with the camper”… 90% of the campsites that we have been on this trip have little cabins for rent as well. KOA in Parry Sound and Kingston (both in Canada) had great little cabins on the campgounds and friends and family who did not have a camper were able to have a great camping holiday too!!! I’m sure this is very well known for some but new to me, it’s great choice when traveling with kids and dogs… no more hotel/motel/airbnb … camp middle of the beautiful nature instead and get outdoors!!!

Kaya having a cooling swim after “full zoomies” running after Rhona in the forest

Dinner time in the Jungle!!

Rhona in solitude keeping an eye out for all the little critters that have been or are there.. ;)

I have been asked what place has been the most favorite during our trip till now… well.. it’s always the places that “the kids” are most welcome and we can be outside doing stuff. Rain or shine does not stop us for having fun…

Our family seems to be on its best when every one is tired from exercise and daily adventures by the end of the day. We have our days when we all nap between doing daily choirs like supermarket runs, laundry, computer stuff, kids catching up with snooze dreamland.

After a great week in the forest it’s time to head to Maine.

We have a campsite booked in Rockport, Camden Hills Campground. Looking forward catching up with some peeps from San Diego who are sailing the Camden Classic Race weekend end of July.

Till then…

Dinner time….in the jungle!!
