South Canada..
Ian met some new and old friends at Caseville race week and he got invited to race his A-Cat in Burlington (located between Toronto and Hamilton on Lake Ontario). He raced with them Wednesday night race and they were 10 A-Cat’s and he had tons of fun! So we headed few hours south from Parry Sound to Lake Ontario
the kids of course got to play on the beach front of the beach yacht club
Little break from the heat on the beach that is less than 10 miles from Toronto
We camped in Flamborough campground near Toronto. The campground was empty but apparently fills up during the weekends?!?
Weather has been more than toasty for the last month.. just simply HOT!!!! We never thought that South Canada is so “tropical” with very lush forests, swamp land and lakes that have been taken over by reed. It’s hard to imagine that it snows here every year as kinda expecting to see Alligators around! he he So lucky that we have this camper and very good air-conditioning … it has literally been over 90 F and very humid for last 3 weeks.. we been lucky to find lots of places for the kids to swim in for exercise.
Toronto was a lot BIGGER area than we ever thought of. It just keeps going and going and going along the Lake shore, we never got into the city as the traffic was not worth of battling with.. but all the area looks very livable. Drive towards east and Kingston along the Lawrence River is riddled with summer houses and campgrounds, lots of summer activity possibilities.. and probably winter activities.. just hard to imagine that right now!

We stopped in Kingston which is half way from Toronto to Montreal. Desided to have few days on “always reliable but not very” personal” KOA campsite. Got some good cycling done, as it’s way too hot to run. Got laundry done and did some sightseeing around. In parts of town you look twice as buildings and corner shops are straight out of UK and then it turns into more Canada look… area has very British feel and even roads are as bad as in UK. Very nice little pit stop though.
Rails to Trails route right next to our campsite in Kingston
As it is old railroad turned into a trail… it’s usually very straight, flat as one would think from rail road track

Next Stop… Montreal…
big city, traffic is chaos, but we are staying in National Park Island in the middle of it!!! Parc national des iles-de-Bourcherville, beautiful forest island with swamps ;)… and yes they only speak French here!!! ha ha… well they do speak English if you squeeze them hard enough.. see now you know that you do not have to go all the way to France to get treated “the French way”! If you do know what I mean.. … and if not! Come to Montreal who have kept their “Frenchness” very much alive and they are proud of it as the French would be!! I will leave it to that!!! ha ha
Campground that we are staying though is very nice and neat. Great location to visit Montreal itself but if you planning to go about with a car the traffic is a murder and will take you few hours to do 5-10 km
PS. “the Frenchness” does not start much before you get to Montreal.. It’s very much “English” still about 50 miles west of here!
Rhona watching “Marmot TV” as we are in “France”! ha, it’s endless entertainment for her and it’s too hot to be outside.. it’s perfect!
Riding around the National Park is amazing, very nice trails for riding or hiking. Dogs are welcome to some parts of the island.
Little sneaky off leash run with Rhona ;)
We are off again tomorrow … back to US of A.. if they let us in?!? One thing that all this”political situation” has created is that the border crossing to US and Canada are easy… no line !!! Great!
We have 6 days in north Vermont State Park. … and the weather is going to cool down, uff!!! Rhona and Kaya… and me will be spending all the time outside again and not suffer so badly.
till then…..
